Ronald Althouse is a professor of sociology, Chairperson of the Department of Sociology african american literature and Anthropology, african american literature and Director of the Survey Research Center at West Virginia University. He received the M.A. african american literature and Ph.D. degrees in sociology from the University of Minnesota.
